The Bat challenges riders to see things from a different point of view: backwards! The train is towed up the initial incline backwards to start the ride. When the train is released riders plunge downhill, travel upside down twice through the boomerang element and then once more through the vertical loop before traveling partially up another incline. Once the train is towed up the remainder of the incline, it is released to travel back through these elements backwards. Because the Bat is surrounded on two sides by the midway, park patrons are treated to a close-up view of friends and family on the ride.
