Kidzville. I don't see how the benefit of Peanuts re-brand would outweigh the costs. Kidzville could always benefit from a new ride or two but a complete re-branding is unnecessary.

I'm guessing it won't be a "big" coaster next year based on the fact there's been zero construction around the park. The construction on Leviathan and Behemoth were both started during the previous summer.

We all knew we wouldn't see a coaster. But with soak city, kings island rebranded their water park to soak city and it stayed free so why wouldn't our's stay free.

I don't see any possible way to make splash works separately gated. But on a side note I think we'll see another coaster before a major flat. Cedar fair has always been the chain known for there coasters. Just recently they've been experimenting with putting more flats into there parks instead of coasters to make the parks more diverse. I think that experimentation has ended and that we're going to see a decline in the chains production of flat rides. This is because cedar fair has been to generous in the last couple of years to the bigger parks. But now it's the small parks turn for there new ride and those parks lack in high quality coasters.

New attractions bring people back!

My thoughts for 2013, Spend some money on Splashworks, Re-theming, Re-paint the existing waterslides, A new restaurant, A new washroom\changeroom. Cabanas, A high speed (lazy)-not so lazy river ride, plus a new speed slide tower. I'd even ask for a waterslide coaster. I'd even ask that they dissolve the current lazy river ride, so that you don't have to get out on every full cycle. You have the option to stay in as long as you want. King's Island did this a few years ago. And even offer Tube rentals for the attractions, rather than wait in line-ups for Tubes.
Waterslide attractions are cheaper to build, and I think we are way over-due to update Splashworks. The weather is defintely warmer, and the waterpark seems to be getting busier and busier.
Plus Cedar Point got a touch up over the last few years in their waterpark and King's Island got an upgrade and new attractions for 2012.
I would be dissappointed if we did not get anything for 2013.

I don't think it has anything to do with being cheap. I'd say a $28 million coaster is far from that, actually. Simply put, they have other parks that need to be taken care of too. Wonderland may be the most attended seasonal park, but it is not the highest profit park for the chain, Cedar Point is. Wouldn't that make them more inclined to add attractions there a lot more often? I'm sure they would like to, but they can't. They still have 11 other parks, and 6 water parks to add attractions to.

If CF has a budget of 75-80 million dollars to spend on capital expenses and new attractions, and they decide to build 2 new coasters at 25 million each for 2 parks, that still gives each park 3 million for additions. Water slides are cheap to build, as there are no computers involved or electronics. My first note never asked for CF to spend $10 million dollars at wonderland's Splashworks, it was adding onto the waterpark, some re-freshing, a few new attractions.

I don't think Wonderland will be getting anything major. The park is beefed up enough, so Cedar Fair will take a break from major attractions (like between Behemoth and Leviathan). I wouldn't expect anything big for around 5 years. The old FUN is out, and the new FUN is in*. Expect something like a 5 year interval for big rides. Our new prez is focused on family, not huge thrill rides. The days of coaster wars are over.

Short Version: Don't expect a big ride next year, because there are other parks in the chain who need to beef up their coaster variety, and it ain't Wonderland.

Look at the expenses for 2012. A new coaster for us, and two WindSeekers. Besides that, the rest was spent on shows, Dinosaurs Alive!, and water park work for King's Island and Cedar Point. Cedar Fair is not going to throw money at Wonderland each year for new attractions, regardless of attendance. Think of the last four years as them playing catch up, and not necessarily how the future will go.

The big parks don't "get something major" every year. Every park gets things every year, whether it be big or small. In 2011, we got Windseeker and Dinosaurs Alive! along with other park improvements such as music on rides, new LED's on Backlot, and new theming on The Crypt (RIP). In 2010, we got Planet Snoopy. Kings Island celebrates its 40th this year with a renovation of Soak City and general park improvements, along with the gift of Son of Beast being dismantled.

Just because Wonderland has a lot of people coming to the park, doesn't mean that it should get something huge year after year. I think you'll see some general park improvements next year and MAYBE a little something more. But that's it.

We may see a year similar to 2011, but there's no way Canada's Wonderland will be receiving anything upwards of $15 million. I think a Splash Works revamp will be coming your way (but honestly, I have no idea. Nobody's told me anything).

Me personally? I would die if Wildwater Kingdom in the location formerly adjacent from Geauga Lake to get its revamp that was put on hold due to the Paramount Parks acquisition.$1.24 Billion (US) sure can chew up a lot of capital expenditure. That's 6 years ago, and I personally don't like when something's promised to me, and then it just *disappears*. With the new renovations of waterparks we've been seeing (although, for the most part, it was a Kinzel project, not a Ouimet), I'd look for the new Cedar Fair to renovate a few more water parks in the coming years.
