Thanks for the update :)
That hammerhead looks awesome! As much as I love the Minebuster I just finds it shakes you around alot, but it beats the Wild Beast any day.

Minebuster is all about the seat you ride in.

As for Behemoth, the building of Leviathan will not diminish it for me. Love the ride.
cheers

Exactly - if you sit in the middle of the car (because there's three rows :)) then it's probably one of the best rides!

I'm so ridiculously excited for Leviathan. Every time I drive by I get super excited and start looking for the skyline way before I know I can actually see the park. I can't wait for opening day!

This picture is ridiculously impressive -- http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kQYHz1JGu6Y/T ... MG1564.JPG

Seeing the way the hammerhead just TOWERS over those trees is sensational. That area will truly become one of CW's most-photographed locations. Also, Leviathan looks stunning against the blue sky. Just beautiful!

I think the last update pretty much proves how much steeper leviathan's hammerhead is compared to other b&m hypers. Really impressive!

^ When you think about it, ever since the off-season started, all of the updates have just been someone going into the parking lot and taking pictures. Just like you said, hopefully Nick got a tour from Wonderland this time because its been a while.

Also, I hope Wonderland will begin teasing about the themeing in the area on their Facebook page with like blurry really zoomed in images! :D

As promised... Another official Leviathan construction tour! Today we met up with Lindsey Gillard from Public Relations for our walk around the Leviathan site. To our surprise, Peter Switzer (Director, Maintenance & Construction) joined us and led us around the site answering lots of questions. We'll try to provide as much info as we can. Definitely check out the videos for lots of details!

Full set of pictures can be found in our gallery here:
http://www.cwmania.com/gallery/thumbnai ... =1&sort=dd

Peter Switzer talking about Leviathan construction:

In case you missed it:
-One train is on site! Another will arrive next month and the 3rd will arrive in March (they will not have any lights on them as seen on Swarm at Thorpe Park)
-The arcade building facade will be rethemed to the Medieval theme

Peter Switzer talking about the magnetic trim brakes along the course:

Image
The station is well underway. The area to the right wrapped in plastic will be the elevator.

Image
Back of the station.

Image
Front of the station. The left side of the stairs will be for general queuing and the right side will be for Fast Lane.

Image
Rising Waters is going to be moved from its current location to a new spot beside the Drop Tower souvenir shop (the poured pad covered in plastic towards the left).

Image
Future midway, entry plaza, station and lift in the background.

Image
Future queue will go behind the station (between the building and the lift hill).

Image
The queue will also go underneath the maintenance bays.

Image
Stairs into the station.

Image
Checking out the bottom of the lift from the station. Leviathan's lift hill is expected to be 50% faster than Behemoth's! They hope for a speed of 4.5 metres per second!

Image
Entrance into the station.

Image
The area to the left is being framed for the operator's booth.

Image
Back of the station looking towards the queue area.

Image
Looking out over the future entry plaza/midway from the exit platform.

Image
Construction also continues on the main track structure. This part of the return run will whiz right by the picnic area located to the north side of the main gate. It's going to be an awesome picture spot in just a few more months.

Image
HEAD CHOPPER! This is going to be awesome diving back down after the HUGE camelback hill.

Image
Another angle (opposite side) of that head chopper.

Image
The park has kept as many trees around the track as possible.

Image
The completed hammerhead towers over the entry plaza. For those wondering, yes, you will be able to walk freely below this massive element!

Image
The track angles look really weird when looking up at the hammerhead.

Image
Soon everyone that parks on the north side of the parking lot will be walking under this massive coaster. It's going to be a very impressive welcome! The driveway, parking lot and walkways will all be adjusted to conform around Leviathan's supports.

Image
Looking up at the massive camelback hill.

Image
The large red crane is still lifting supports and track into place. It really is HUGE (or is coasterboy just really tiny???)

Image
It was confirmed that the trim brakes are magnetic. They will be silent when used. It won't be known until testing begins if/when the trims will be required.

Image
Looking at the high-speed hill. Lots of trees still around the track!

Image
Looking back at the overbank turn after the first drop.

All track work should be done around the beginning of February. Then they'll take some time to check all the track to make sure each piece is perfectly lined up properly (within a millimetre or two!) and they'll also check the clearances around the course.

THANK YOU CANADAS'S WONDERLAND for having CWMania once again. We can't wait for our next visit!
