Hmm... I will have to peacefully disagree!
Son of Beast and King Cobra coexisted for 1 year, so pictures and videos with both of them in it are hard to come by. King Cobra was separated from Son of Beast by a few things, such as maintenance roads and buildings as well as other attractions. Son of Beast had little to nothing to do with King Cobra's removal.
You got the second part right; parts were scarce for that model of coaster especially. I bet HUSS parts were easier to come by! But that wasn't the only thing leading to its removal. You must also keep in mind that his ride was made in the (I believe late 80's, early 90's?) country of Japan. During this timeframe, Japanese steel was horrible (now it's OK). The ride was the first of its type, and due to the prototypeness and lack of knowledge about steel, premature rusting occurred.
So I guess premature rusting, spare parts (or lack thereof), And low ridership is what prompted the removal of King Cobra.... Or at least that's what the park tells us...

So if King Cobra was removed in 2006, where did Delirium go?
