hmmmmm . . . I wonder if they used a pump truck, an ergolift or a pumpity-pump inside the mountain¿ I hope they didn't leave the forks out. HA! If anyone needs me to explain this later, then let me know . . . and I know why Guardian isn't open yet . . . they are still picking the cherries out of the mountain . . . HA! . . . maybe they should used the scissors instead . . . HA HA HA! . . . oh, oh, my side hurts . . . I'm here all week folks . . .

Dom497 wrote:This also then brings up the question: Can there really be just 1000 feet of track when the track goes corner to corner (and I'm going to assume that there's going to be lots of turns along the way).

It also explains why the first photo was at the 60 foot mark. If the lift hill is 79 feet, it makes perfect sense for that part of the ride to be at 60 feet (and when you think about it, if that much of the ride has passed and you've only lost 19 feet, it makes a drop track even more likely!)
Great spotting on the Thunder Run exit ramp! I always wondered what the "other" side of the wall looked like.

For fun, here's what 1000' feet of track looks like...

Obvious disclaimer: I've no idea what happens aside from the track outside the mountain, but this gives you a "feel" for about how long the actual physical track will be. Uncurl it in your imagination and see what you can come up with. It's a lot more than what I was actually thinking.

I was thinking the same thing but then why would the park take a picture at this location outside of the mountain and put it in the Guardian album rather than just their timeline? I still think there's something there....

Dom, the support for the footer you are talking about, is not going to be round, it is going to be rectangular in shape, if that helps with your thinking.

I see where you are coming from, with the rectangular bolt pattern.Image
however, round supports could use a square support as seen here http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz35 ... 1265924176

That's true Greg, however, those foundations are also rectangular. The support for the foundation in our mountain couldn't be round, it wouldn't fit on the rectangular configuration of those bolts, and isn't that foundation closer to the side where the station is going to be and not really near the front of the mountain? Where would this foundation be on Ducks' track prediction, a couple of posts back on this page?

Actually, now that I look at the mountain from above, the foundation seems to be behind the falls....whoops.

EDIT: This sketch is wrong, look below for a more accurate one!

hmmmmm . . . maybe it is to give a bit more support to the 'roof' where Vortex turns at the top of the mountain . . .

The footer in the picture posted above is in the area of Guardian's station. If looking at the mountain washroom entrance, that support would be a little bit to the right. The ramp for Thunder Run runs along the north side of the mountain. As this picture was taken on the opposite side (looking north), this footer would actually be closer to the south wall of Wonder Mountain.

^That makes no sense. Looks like I was wrong with my sketch above, here is a more accurate one:

The red line is Thunder Run's (approximate) exit which means the footer has to be somewhere in the purple box or close by.

Sorry, I meant that footer would be a little to the right of the washrooms. Closer to where the turnaround is that leads out of the mountain to the lift hill.

I don't think the two pictures you posted are related. I believe that the first picture (from the top of the mountain) was simply put in the wrong folder (Guarding construction instead of general pictures). The quote for that picture is "Winter Wonderland as viewed from the 60 foot level of Wonder Mountain."

Ok, so say thet aren't related....Thunder's Run's exit is still right there.

Here's a picture of the washrooms (turn around to the lift is to the left). The picture showing the footer doesn't match with this:

EDIT: ohhhh, I see where the confusion is happening. Does anyone have a video of the complete exit of TR or even just a set of photo's? The portion shown in the picture may not be the beginning part.

While were at it, could somebody draw the layout of Thunder Run on top if the Google Map image?
