Re: The Next Coaster...

Do you think the park told City TV the news of an new coaster to lower the blow of losing SkyRider? Its packaging a bad message with a good message in hopes of lowering blow back from the bad message. Its a classic PR move.

Re: The Next Coaster...

I always wondered why the mini-put still hasn't been removed. It is quite outdated and in a prime location. The only reasoning I could think of is that because it is up-charge attraction, Wonderland makes money off of it.

Re: SkyRider to Close on Labour Day

Good PR move by Wonderland to get some publicity. A little off topic, but the banner picture of the girl in the third row of Skyrider might be one of the funniest Coaster faces I've ever seen.

Re: SkyRider Closing On September 1

Has it been stated someone that the park is naming rides after Olympic locations? I thought the names correlated with biblical creatures. Rougraou isn't a biblical creature, it is from French lore (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rougarou). With that said, there are a few biblical creatures that start ...

Re: Halloween Haunt 2014

Not according to the Knotts website: https://www.knotts.com/knotts-scary-far ... rm-tickets.

Isn't Knotts usually busy and hard to do in one night? Obviously at Wonderland if you go early in the season the park is usually dead.

Re: Halloween Haunt 2014

Seeing how the cheapest single night tickets are $39, it is definitely worth it if you plan on going more than once.

Re: Action Theatre Future???

I think the trampolines will not be removed and probably be moved. It is just seems like a waste for Wonderland to remove another revenue stream.

Re: SkyRider Closing On September 1

How long does it take to build a launch coaster like Dragster? Are they going to start building the 2016 coaster now? How big could this thing be? After TDD, Cedar Fair has sworn off rides like that. So I doubt we will see a similar type ride. However, I won't be surprised if a Wing Coaster soars i...

Did Kings Island remove SOB and Banshee all in a year? I can't remember. Bad memory.

SOB was demolised towards the end of the 2012 season

SOB was also plagued with problems. Maybe SkyRider is in the same boat and too expensive to maintain anymore.

Re: SkyRider Closing On September 1

Yes, but it doesn't take a year and a half to deconstruct a coaster. If it was for 2016, why not deconstruct it in the off-season? Allow people to enjoy the ride until the end of the season. It seems like odd timing to pick two months before the park closes to remove it.

Re: SkyRider Closing On September 1

Why would Wonderland close SkyRider a year in advance? Wouldn't it makes sense for them to keep it open for another year and close it just prior to the construction of the 2016 coaster?

Re: SkyRider Closing On September 1

I have a feeling the land will be used for the Splash Works expansion. It just makes sense with SkyRider's location and water slide pieces discovered on site.
