Re: New For 2018- Lumberjack, Flying Canoes, and Splash Island Expansion

New coaster for 2019 is already being teased by Dave Phillips, the head of marketing at the park. Five years after Guardian which was two years after Leviathan. Not that long between coasters, all things considered. The quote you're referencing said that people who are familiar with the park's recen...

Re: New For 2018- Lumberjack, Flying Canoes, and Splash Island Expansion

Solid year, for sure! I love the look of both rides and the name Lumberjack is very appropriate! There sure are a lot of things flying these days, though, with The Fly, Flying Eagles, Skyhawk, Soaring Timbers, and now Flying Canoes. The logo for Lumberjack is amazing with the upside down axe as the ...

Re: Kings Island 2017 Family Trip

The Sunday was much less busy overall than the Saturday (we only waited about 10 minutes for Firehawk as opposed to the 60 minute posted wait the day before, and we didn't even get there at opening). Although I didn't try waiting for Backlot, I think you've got the right idea; Either that or X-Base ...

Re: New For 2017 (excluding Soaring Timbers and Muskoka Plunge)

Been loving all the entertainment and special events this year! I've checked out Cirque Canadien twice (the first time seemed to be running a shorter show as it was missing a few acts I saw the second time) and absolutely loved it! Truly incredible that this show is included with park admission as i...

Re: Kings Island 2017 Family Trip

I do like that they've spread good stuff out so that the entire park isn't congregated in a section or two (like at CW and KD)... It's a hard balance to strike... I'll admit to that point: I still think Orbiter isn't as popular as it should be since that area is dizzy-central and after going on Psy...

Re: Wonderland Merchandise Thread

During my trip to Kings Island, I noticed that they had some metal and plastic Eiffel Tower models you could buy, most with the park name on them in some form or another. It's such a great, simple little souvenir to buy and it made me think that Wonderland should have that, but with Wonder Mountain....

Kings Island 2017 Family Trip

Had a good trip down to Kings Island, though I got the flu on the Sunday morning, which spoiled a little of my enjoyment of the park. First, a few quick thoughts: This park’s layout is ridiculously frustrating. You can’t seem to get anywhere without walking through incredibly dead sections of the pa...

Re: Halloween Haunt 2017

Not every maze at Wonderland is permanent. Streets of the Undead is taken down every year to allow for the "Music Fest" for high school students, The Asylum's facade is taken down (though I have no idea why, since it's behind the scenes), and there's always new corn set up for Cornstalkers...

Documentary on Wonder Mountain’s Guardian

Hey guys! I made a documentary on Wonder Mountain’s Guardian at Canada’s Wonderland a couple years ago and finally got around to re-recording the audio and doing some additional revisions. It features an exclusive interview with Peter Switzer, director of maintenance and construction at the park, as...

Re: New For 2017 (excluding Soaring Timbers and Muskoka Plunge)

I got a pamphlet in the mail today from Wonderland. It listed some of the events for this year including having the West Coast Lumberjack Show, Ultimate Thrills Circus, Woofjocks, and Chinese Acrobats back. Additionally, Brew and BBQ, KidZfest, Taste of Italy, and Taste of Greece will be returning! ...

Re: Flat Rides You'd Like To See At Wonderland

I've always thought that as long as the CNE has a Larson Looper, Wonderland doesn't really need one, but I'm not much of a fan of being held upside down anyway. I recently came across a ride concept by Mondial for "Blender." You can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvfojzZDmys ...

Re: Muskoka Plunge and Soaring Timbers

More details have been released on the official site regarding the new attractions. Soaring Timbers officially has a height requirement of 54" and Muskoka Plunge will have a minimum height of 48" (not that either of those is surprising). Muskoka Plunge is not being manufactured by ProSlide...

New For 2017 (excluding Soaring Timbers and Muskoka Plunge)

I was browsing the website and noticed a few new additions this year. Feel free to add non-food related additions here as the season progresses. Dockside Grill: In Splash Works "Enjoy waves, slides and BBQ at the Dockside Grill. Grab one of your favourite backyard BBQ entrees and sit back and l...

Re: Halloween Haunt 2016

Canada's Wonderland has removed Fear VR: 5150 from its Haunt site. It seems there were concerns about the portrayal of persons with mental illnesses when the experience opened at Knott's Berry Farm and California's Great America. I was really looking forward to this, so hopefully they can alter the ...

Re: 2016 Events and Live Entertainment

I was checking out the Camp Spooky page of the website and apparently the old Vampire maze will become the Enchanted Garden maze. Not only that, but there's new live entertainment including "Lucy Van Pelt's Costume Contest" and "Spooky Tales with Snoopy." But that's not all durin...
