Re: I was wondering...

Blauer Enzian (Remade into Thunder Run) is technically not a true roller coaster, because it's constantly powered. The other four are the "true" roller coasters, as in pulled up a hill (could also be launched), then the rest is gravity.

Re: Behemoth Vibrations

I think there was a suggestion a ways back that the high G Forces and heavy train made the wheels gradually become looser on the track, which allowed it to vibrate more. On TPR a while ago there was discussion about how the longer eurofighter cars with wheels near the middle have serious vibrations....

Re: Wonder Mountain's Guardian - New for 2014!

I seem to re-call the president and CEO stating that this ride was still in the design phase.....Really? I've seen a lot of people mentioning this statement. I think he meant that this specific layout and program that will run on it is still in design. I believe rides that are very similar do exist...

Re: Wonder Mountain's Guardian - New for 2014!

Rewatching the BT announcement, the guy from Triotech mentioned that there will be "lasers to shoot to fight the dragons", with a score counter. It sounds like a real roller coaster version of Boo Blasters but for older kids, in a good way that is. It seems like it will be quite innovative...

Re: Sledge Hammer

It was running Monday (between thunderstorms) and today perfectly fine. Glad we have such a good maintenance team to keep this ride running

Re: Wonder Mountain's Guardian - New for 2014!

At the announcement they really stressed the interactive part, which will distinguish it from Thunder Run. It also has a "Surprise Ending" which surprisingly hasn't been mentioned yet. It's supposed to make those afraid of rides think twice about riding again. I'm actually really excited t...

Re: 2014 at Canada's Wonderland

^ I distinctly recall a lot of people scoffing at the idea of a 300ft+ coaster when we were all speculating over Leviathan. They thought it was craaaaaaaazy to think that we'd get something so big so soon after Behemoth. Leviathan fit into a fairly standard 4 year cycle, I think the reason people w...

Re: Halloween Haunt 2013

This year's Haunt looks great! It seems like Lousiana Scream is a redone Blood On The Bayou, not necessarily a bad thing. The Ruins also seems like a great maze to set inside the mountain. Also, I'm really excited to see Terror of London returning!

Re: 2014 at Canada's Wonderland

I think everyone should lower their expectations a bit for this ride. I don't think we're getting something on the scale of Leviathan or Behemoth. As for the twitter conversation of: "How Will you ever top Leviathan?" "We Have a few things up our sleeve", that just sounds like a ...

Re: The Next Coaster...

I don't think it's necessary to take out anything to put in a new coaster. That said, something like Maverick would be amazing.

Re: 2014 at Canada's Wonderland

I think the most likely addition is either a small coaster inside the mountain, or a nice flat ride in the mountain. Or maybe it has nothing to do with the mountain and this is restoration, but it looks like more than that.

Right, I forgot about that. We don't know what could happen for this year's Haunt though.

Re: Dorney Park Launches Fast Pay

I think this system could be really useful. I don't like using cash at parks because then you have change that just flies out of your pockets, if you don't want to have to carry around a backpack. When I was at CP in May it was nice after we went back to the room for lunch not to have to carry anyth...

Re: DARIEN LAKE

When I was at Darien Lake two years ago I found it was extremely quiet, and it was July 4  . I do remember it being a much different atmosphere than Wonderland. I've heard this season they've been doing a lot of rehab work on the rides and trains during the season, causing a lot of one train ...

Re: 2014 at Canada's Wonderland

Another interesting section that I noticed some minimal work being done was white water canyon looked to have some fencing torn down and small trees cleared in the closed off second viewing area near the water fall section. There were also log formations hiding things... I haven't been to the park ...
